A carbon film resistor is a type of film resistor. It is manufactured by using high-temperature vacuum coating technology to tightly attach carbon to the surface of a ceramic rod, forming a carbon film. The resistor is then fitted with appropriate terminals, cut to size, and coated with epoxy resin for sealing and protection. The surface is often coated with green protective paint. The thickness of the carbon film determines the resistance value, which is typically controlled by adjusting the film thickness and cutting grooves. Carbon film resistors are also known as “pyrolytic carbon film resistors.” They are thin-film resistors made by depositing carbon from the thermal decomposition of hydrocarbons in a vacuum onto a substrate.
